IGDA Ottawa Chapter Ignites!!

October 3, 2008

The following post is courtesy of Kate Underhill from Magmic Games:

Over 75 gamers, professionals, students, and related industry fans joined the IGDA Ottawa Chapter at The Code Factory on Wednesday night. It was record breaking attendance for the IGDA Ottawa chapter and the positive reviews keep flowing in.

The speakers, represented by 5 of the top game companies in Ottawa (Magmic Games, Fuel Industries, Sylien Games, HeadGames and DISTIL Interactive) delivered interesting and inspiring presentations … sharing innovations, products and initiatives that are being created right here in Ottawa, Ontario.

There was a great buzz all evening — which continued onto the pub where the group enjoyed free beer, courtesy of our sponsor Fasken Martieau (law firm specializing in this industry), as well as lots of networking, game talk and good times!

There is no doubt that Ottawa is a force to be reckoned with, and that the IGDA Ottawa Chapter has been reignited. Here’s to continuing with this momentum into 2009.

Some early press:
